Harvey Fox Led Company Engineering Development into 21st Century

WALTHAM, MASS. (May 3, 2007) - Keltron Corporation today announced the retirement of Harvey M. Fox, president and founder of the Waltham, Mass.-based life safety event management systems manufacturer. Fox, one of the founders of Keltron, will remain on the board of directors of Keltron Corporation and continue to consult for the company.

"Harvey's contribution to the success of Keltron and to organizations such as Underwriters Laboratories, National Fire Protection Association, American Fire Alarm Association and other fire protection associations is recognized throughout the industry" said David Wilbourn, CEO of Keltron Corporation and longtime colleague of Fox's. "He has handed down his engineering skills and industry insights to our talented engineering and product management team who will continue the traditions and values that he personified during his active participation."

"Harvey's impact on the fire alarm industry will far exceed his fulfilling retirement days" said Robert Yerger, president, Berkshire Systems Group, Inc. a systems integrator and Keltron partner.

From Keltron's beginnings as a manufacturer of analog control devices to the company's current position as a leading manufacturer of life safety event management solutions, Fox led the company's engineering efforts to design and develop state-of-the-art life safety equipment. Always believing in highly responsive, direct connect alarm monitoring, he designed alarm receivers for municipalities before central stations were conceived. Over the years, he created an experienced engineering team that developed many company firsts including the solid state coded fire alarm signal decoder, multiplex data gathering panel and the use of microprocessors in alarm systems. Today, the company's expert engineers have expanded into radio and Ethernet technology, providing solutions to institutional, commercial, industrial, government, and military facilities across the country.

Active in NFPA for many years, Fox sat on the Supervising Stations Technical Committee of the National Fire Alarm Code (NFPA 72). "Harvey brought useful perspective and institutional memory to the committee", notes Art Black, committee chair. "His expertise with remote station systems helped educate members and guide our decision-making."

Lawrence Shudak, principal engineer at Underwriters Laboratories said of Fox, "Harvey always impressed me with his drive to provide an excellent product to protect the public. He did not want to cut corners. I applaud his seemingly limitless energy in his involvement with the industry."

"His deep sense of business and personal integrity earned the universal respect of anyone who knows him. I have chosen my role models very carefully through my life and Harvey is definitely one of them." commented John Ventrella, president of Systems Sales Corporation & SDI, Keltron partner and systems integrator.

Keltron's expansion into software applications was so exciting that I've been delaying my retirement," said Fox, who initially planned to retire in the beginning of 2006. "I am looking forward to the next phase of my life - spending more time with my wife Dorothy and our three children and eight grandchildren", he noted "and participating in community activities and ongoing studies."

Everyone at Keltron and throughout the industry offers our best wishes to Harvey and his wife, Dorothy, for a wonderful retirement.
