Press release date: June 3, 2008

MOORPARK, Calif. - Kavlico, a global business unit of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) and an operation of Schneider Electric, has achieved the CE mark compliance for five of its industrial pressure sensor product families: the P992 Low Pressure Differential Sensor, the P4055 Low Cost OEM Pressure Sensor, the P528 OEM Refrigeration Pressure Sensor, the P6000 Miniature Pressure Sensor, and the PT250 Pressure Transmitter. These products can be used for a wide array of applications, including HVAC, compressors, refrigeration, medical, process control, hydraulics, wastewater as well as a variety of other general industrial applications.

These five sensor families are available in gage, absolute, sealed gage and differential pressure ranges from 0-30 cm H20 up through 750 psi (51.7 Bar). These products are offered as standard, off-the-shelf models or may be configured with optional process and electrical connectors, suited to the end-use application. Standard output is 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc with other options available.

The CE mark designation certifies that these sensors and transmitters conform to all the essential requirements of the relevant European Directive(s) for safety as they relate to low-voltage equipment. When the mark is permitted to be used, it means that there is documented proof that the product(s) meet the relevant requirements. This is generally achieved via an external test house. Kavlico's testing was done through TUV, a globally recognized testing, inspection, and certification organization. Kavlico is issuing their EC Declaration of Conformity (EC-DoC), indicating the test house identity, the list of the European Directives complied with, a list of standards the products complied with, along with a legally binding Kavlico signature.

By obtaining CE certification for these products, Kavlico provides new sensing options for European and Asian OEMs. OEMs can now benefit from Kavlico's vast experience in the design and manufacture of high reliability sensors which incorporate Kavlico's field-proven and cost-effective ceramic capacitive and piezo-resistive (PRT) sensors into their equipment without costly modifications or add-ons for CE compliance. Kavlico GmbH, a German subsidiary of Kavlico, has been supplying a limited portfolio of sensors to the European market. With the addition of these five product families, users will now have a broader portfolio of Kavlico products to choose from.
