DC-distiller helps Global 2000 clients automate high-volume document processing
ASHBURN, Va., Aug. 23, 2007 -- Brainware, Inc., whose solutions automate high-volume document processing and data extraction, today announced that its Intelligent Data Capture (IDC) solution, IDC-distiller, has been selected by the editors of KMWorld as a "Trend Setting Product" of 2007.
In evaluating candidates for the "Trend-Setting" award, KMWorld editors consult with colleagues, analysts, and customer organizations throughout the year. Of 650 products evaluated this year, only 90 won the "Trend-Setting" designation.
This is the second consecutive year that Brainware technologies have been recognized as "Trend Setters" by KMWorld. Globalbrain, a powerful natural-language and context-based search engine that seamlessly integrates between the enterprise and the desktop, was named a KMWorld Trendsetter in 2006.
Brainware released Version 4.0 of IDC-distiller on May 30, 2007. In this major upgrade, Brainware significantly extended IDC-distiller's capabilities through integrations with a variety of industry-leading applications used for OCR (i.e., ABBYY FineReader Engine 8), image and document processing, and project customization. Other IDC-distiller upgrades enable processing of multiple document types within a project; the automatic recognition of non-Western character sets such as Greek and Cyrillic (e.g., Polish, Russian); and many other document processing enhancements.
IDC-distiller's new features are also available in variants addressing Accounts Payable (A/P-distiller) and Order-to-Cash (OTC-distiller).
"IDC-distiller continues to build its reputation as a premier solution in the document processing and data capture space," says Hugh McKellar, KMWorld editor-in-chief. "As more Global 2000 companies see the significant ROI potential from automating the processing of invoices, purchase orders, and other document types, IDC-distiller's agnostic approach to document capture in a variety of applications should continue to gain strong adherents."
"It is extremely gratifying to receive this recognition from KMWorld editors, and from the analysts and customers they consulted with during their evaluations," says Carl Mergele, Brainware CEO. "We welcome this validation that our intelligent data capture technologies are meeting an increasingly critical need in the document processing market."
About IDC-distiller: IDC-distiller provides fast, template-free data extraction from any document type (invoices, customer orders, loan applications, claims or benefits forms, etc.) for auto-processing in all major ERP systems and DMS repositories. IDC-distiller routinely speeds document processing by 60% to 80%, automatically extracts line-item detail from large documents and tables, and sharply reduces the need for manual coding, data entry, or scripting.
Unavailable from any competitor, Brainware "intelligent" features include:
o Automatically understanding document content based on only a handful of samples. o Classification of documents based on content, regardless of layout or format. o Auto-learning of new extraction details based on prior exception handling. o Proprietary "Associative Search" methodology to find contextual information, enabling unrivaled data matching.
By automating much more of the document processing lifecycle than any competitor, and generating much faster extraction rates, Brainware typically generates a full ROI in as little as six months.
