KAPP Group Showcases KAPP KX300P Gear Center with integrated Ring Loader Automation, NILES ZE400S Profile Grinder and CBN/DIA tools at IMTS 2006

Boulder, Colorado (April 10, 2006) - The KAPP Group will highlight two machines and display a variety of CBN and DIA plated tools at this year's International Manufacturing Technology Show(IMTS) in Chicago September 6th through 13th.
The KAPP KX300P is a compact, affordable, and versatile machine occupying only 65 ft2 of floor space. It can use either dressable or non-dressable worms and form wheels and features on-board inspection and integrated balancing. A vertically-oriented workpiece spindle allows for efficient integration of automatic loading systems. KAPP will showcase an integrated ring loader system on the KX300P at this year's IMTS. The ring loader significantly reduces part-to-part exchange times over gantry or robot type automation systems. With an (optional) integrated ring loader, the KX300P can achieve cycle-stop to cycle-start times of approximately 4 seconds.
NILES has added a ZE400S to their ZE gear profile grinding machine line. The S series features an additional 150mm of stroke length which provides the machine with excellent internal capabilities. This machine is ideal for finishing internal and external spur and helical gears using either dressable or non-dressable form wheels. It features a common cast-iron machine base for all machine components, torque table, and a common CNC dressing device with a high-precision spindle for both internal and external applications. The machine will be displayed with an optional dressable internal attachment. It also features integrated inspection and GMG (grind-measure-grind) technology. NILES' ZE series profile grinders range from 400mm to 1200mm capacity. All ZE machines feature state-of-the-art Siemens Sinumerik 840D controls.
KAPP Technologies will display a variety of CBN and DIA plated products and have a specialist available to answer questions about CBN plated form grinding wheels for discontinuous profile grinding of involute gears, rotors, and other special profiles. KAPP form grinding wheels can produce both internal and external profiles. KAPP also manufactures CBN plated cylindrical worms and diamond-plated Coroning® tools.
