Fluensee AssetTrack(TM) Combines Active and Passive RFID Technology to Provide Single Asset Management Platform for all Assets

ORLANDO - RFID Journal LIVE! - April 15, 2010 - Fluensee, a leading provider of RFID-enabled asset tracking and management solutions , today announced that Juniper Networks has selected Fluensee's enterprise-level asset tracking solution to support the management of Juniper's high-value assets worldwide. Fluensee's AssetTrack(TM) is a single platform that simultaneously supports multiple RFID technologies to track a variety of highly valued and mission-critical assets , including electronic test equipment, circuit boards and IT assets across a growing number of Juniper facilities. Fluensee's solution goes beyond simply tracking these assets to providing the robust functionality, business process integration and decision support required to optimize the control and use of these assets throughout the enterprise.

Juniper began using Fluensee's AssetTrack in April 2009 to automate the tracking and management of Juniper's test equipment, product prototypes and finished products. Based on the success and value of the initial implementation, Juniper is extending the AssetTrack solution to manage all high-value assets enterprise wide.

Fluensee's AssetTrack is unique in its ability to simultaneously incorporate multiple automatic identification technologies, including RFID, barcode, GPS and sensor technologies, to effectively manage many types of fixed and mobile assets within an organization. Fluensee has implemented a combination of active and passive RFID technology at Juniper to facilitate real-time asset tracking and management.

AssetTrack also helps Juniper automate the management of its mission-critical equipment and perform quick and efficient internal audits. Fluensee's RFID asset tracking system allows Juniper to achieve the following operational benefits:

o Reduced time and labor spent performing physical inventories and searching for misplaced assets
o Improved visibility to every asset movement
o Immediate notification of unauthorized moves

"Initially we set out to provide real-time visibility into the location of our high-value test equipment and receive alerts when these assets move from designated areas," said Patrick Thurber, Juniper Networks' director of lab management. "We quickly saw the value in Fluensee's ability to provide a single asset management platform for all of our high-value assets and respective business processes. It was an easy decision to expand the use of Fluensee's solution to support our asset tracking and management requirements worldwide."

"Most organizations that manage critical and expensive assets like test equipment have the same issues: manual processes; labor-intensive inventories; limited visibility, control and utilization of assets; and the need for a solution that makes financial and operational sense," said Chris Brumett, chief operating officer at Fluensee. "Juniper now has a full-service, flexible enterprise asset management solution that reduces the time and labor needed to perform physical inventories, provides a way to quickly reconcile asset discrepancies, and provides proactive notification of equipment movement, which ultimately will help the company streamline operations and save money."
