Nuclear Energy Standards Coordination Collaborative (NESCC), joint initiative of ANSI and NIST, released agenda for spring meeting (July 23, 2013 in Washington, DC). Meeting will include presentations on nuclear energy standards from ISO Technical Committee (TC) 85 on nuclear energy and the lessons learned during construction of Vogtle Electric Generation plant near Waynesboro, GA as well as discussion of NESCC framework document and results of survey of NESCC members.

Agenda Released for July Meeting of the Nuclear Energy Standards Coordination Collaborative



The Nuclear Energy Standards Coordination Collaborative (NESCC), a joint initiative of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), has publicly released the agenda for its upcoming spring meeting, scheduled to be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at ANSI Headquarters (1899 L Street, NW, 11th floor) in Washington, DC. NESCC meetings focus on identifying and responding to the current needs of the nuclear industry, and the standards that can facilitate its growth and development.



The upcoming meeting will include presentations on nuclear energy standards from International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee (TC) 85 on nuclear energy and the lessons learned during the construction of the Vogtle Electric Generation plant near Waynesboro, Georgia, as well as a discussion of the NESCC framework document and the results of a recent survey of the NESCC’s members. In addition, participants will receive an update on the NESCC’s standards database project and take part in a working lunch including relevant industry news and perspectives, among other presentations and topics of discussion.

The July 23 meeting is open to all interested U.S. and international stakeholders, including government legislative and regulatory bodies, industry, standards developing organizations, and certification organizations. Attendance at the meeting is free of charge, but advance registration is required for both in-person and teleconference participants due to space constraints. All participants must register by Tuesday, July 16, 2013.
