Jopari 5010 Transactions Beat Jan. 2012 Deadline

Leading P&C Industry Clearinghouse Already Enabling ASC X12 Compliance

CONCORD, Calif. - Jopari Solutions, Inc., the leader in electronic medical transactions and connectivity for the Property and Casualty industry, announced the company is already enabling healthcare providers to begin using the ASC X12 5010 standard transaction sets. Jopari's 5010 implementation, which is well in advance of the 1/1/2012 deadline, assures day-one compliant transactions capability will be available to Jopari's expansive and expanding network of eBill submitters.

In launching 5010 compliance, Jopari has overcome several challenges unique to Property and Casualty transactions. The X12 requirements are currently mandated for Workers' Compensation and Auto Medical electronic billing in just a few states. In addition, many interfaces for payers systems were not established using ASC X12 transactions. For these reasons, Jopari has engineered a fully flexible approach - providing translation services for provider and payer customers to meet the compliance requirements where necessary, while preserving their ability to maintain existing transaction flows.

Explaining the company's in-advance preparations, J.R. 'Steve' Stevens, Chairman and CEO of Jopari Solutions, said, "Jopari, collaborating closely with our connected providers, payers, and strategic partners, has been undergoing testing for some time. We have worked hard to make certain any provider can transmit a 5010 version transaction to us, we convert that transaction to the payer's needed format, receive back from the payer in their format, and then respond back to the provider with 5010 acknowledgements and other transactions."

Mr. Stevens also said, "by proactively assisting customers, the transaction processing investments our payer and provider constituencies have incurred individually can continue to be utilized and cost justified, focusing on established interaction types. There is no need to undertake dramatic and sometimes expensive workflow and systems changes."

Jopari invites any organization struggling to get on top of ASC X12 5010 compliance to stop by Booth 204 at the National Workers' Compensation and Disability Conference, Nov 9-10, at the Las Vegas Convention Center; or contact Jopari directly at: sales@jopari.com, or (800) 903-7799 ext: 5213.
