Joint IPC and UBM Canon Event Generates Sales and Solid Leads for Exhibitors and Valuable Technical Content and Contacts for Attendees

BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA - The premiere of Electronics Midwest, a joint production of IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries® and UBM Canon, was a confirmed win-win-win success for exhibitors, attendees and organizations alike. Held September 28-30 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., the new event combined IPC's Midwest Conference & Exhibition, previously held in Schaumburg, and UBM Canon's Electronics Midwest show.

The Electronics Midwest exhibition generated a confirmed 3,138 business opportunity meetings - many of which resulted in immediate sales on-site. "We sold all three machines we brought to the show, and lead activity was several times greater than last year's," commented Bob Black, president and CEO of Juki Automation Systems. "Juki will increase its booth size for 2011."

Equally elated with the show, President of A.C.E. Production Technologies Alan Cable reported that he also sold machines at the show and anticipates selling, "8-10 machines over the next 12 months as a result of the show." As participants in the EASi-Line, a live assembly line featuring state-of-the-art processes, materials and equipment of eleven of the industry's top suppliers, A.C.E. and Juki were able to enhance their exposure at Electronics Midwest and garner additional leads.

Similar to other IPC events, Electronics Midwest attracted qualified attendees from across the Midwest to visit the exhibition, attend the technical conference and participate in standards development meetings. Preliminary attendee surveys show high satisfactory ratings in technical quality and, most important to exhibitors, influence on future buying decisions - a rating that comes as no surprise to Scott Wischoffer, marketing manager at Fuji America Corporation. Pleased with his return on investment, Wischoffer said, "The IPC Electronics Midwest Show is the best, most cost-effective way to introduce the latest technology from Fuji to the large customer base in the Midwest. We are already looking forward to next year's event."

Electronics Midwest 2011 will be held September 20-22 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.
