November, 2007

Johnson Manufacturing Company, Princeton, Iowa announces the recent acquisition of certain assets of The S.A. Day Mfg. Co. The newly named S.A. Day Buffalo Flux Facility
will continue to operate at the same location, 1489 Niagara Street in Buffalo, NY 14213.

Products included in the sale are fluxes for soldering copper and brass heat exchangers, as well as high purity fluxes for brazing aluminum and its alloys. The S.A. Day Company was founded in 1912 and was initially involved in the production of buffing compounds. During the 1960's S.A. Day became a pioneer in the development of bromide based fluxes that are still in use today. In 2003 this facility became ISO 9001:2000 Registered and since then has received ISO 14001:2004 Registration also. Mr. Patrick L. O'Connor, formerly with Active Radiator has joined Johnson Mfg. Co. as V.P. of Marketing & Sales at the new Buffalo Flux Facility. Jackson H. (Jay) Bowling has been appointed General Manager of Operations and Gary L. Lampka as Technical Service Representative. All other employees have agreed to remain as well.

According to Alan Gickler, Johnson's President, "We are very fortunate to be able to acquire the S.A. Day products to compliment our own line of soldering fluxes, tinning compounds and paste solders. Offering such a broad line of fluxes will enhance our sale of lead-free solders, babbitts and specialty alloys, in addition to the many other products and services we offer."
