Press release date: July 14, 2009

MALVERN, PA, July 14, 2009 - Johnson Matthey announced today the appointment of Safety Power Inc., Burlington, Ontario, as a Canadian distributor of Johnson Matthey catalyst systems for stationary diesel and gas engines. Safety Power is the largest Canadian provider of environmental solutions for large-scale distributed generators rated at 500 KW or higher.

Safety Power's exclusive territory will include Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nunavut and Labrador and non-exclusive in other parts of Canada.

Established in 2004, Safety Power provides equipment for the safe operation of power generators. A large majority of the electrical generators are powered by stationary diesel and gas engines, making it a natural fit for Safety Power to supply the emissions control equipment for the engines. Safety Power (www.safetypower.ca) will carry Johnson Matthey's line of 3-way and 2-way catalytic converters, CRT® diesel particulate filters and SCR systems giving them a complete tool box of emissions control solutions.

Jeremy Harris, Sales Manager for Johnson Matthey, said, " We selected Safety Power because of its established expertise in emissions controls for stationary engine applications, outstanding customer service and thorough knowledge of the Canadian market, which enables us to reach and serve more customers.

"They are completely familiar with JM capabilities and our leading-edge solutions to maintain and improve air quality. In particular," said Harris, "Safety Power can not only install JM's emissions control systems, but also can provide a complete safety solution for customers' large scale generators."
