Advanced New Plan2Nav Functionalities Debuted For Visitors to 2013 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Visitors come to the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show from around the world to see and experience the latest developments in marine electronics. Jeppesen will be working in concert with OEM chartplotter partner Standard Horizon at this year's show to highlight its popular Plan2Nav mobile app, featuring new wireless integration with Standard Horizon's CPN Series Multimedia Navigation Systems.Â
The recent release of Standard Horizon's free v2.2.2.210 software upgrade for its CPN-1010i and CPN-700i navigation systems enables exclusive wireless integration between these onboard chartplotters and Jeppesen's popular Plan2Nav mobile voyage planning and navigation app. This latest development gives boaters the power to pair their CPN systems with their favorite iPad or iPhone devices running Plan2Nav (requires free upgrade to latest version of Plan2Nav for iOS). With this new functionality, boaters can enjoy a wireless, remote navigation display on their mobile phones or tablets. Plan2Nav users can now view all charting information from their boat's CPN unit -- including rich C-MAP 4D chart detail (without the need to purchase separate Plan2Nav charts), all navigation data, AIS targets, weather data and more. This important information is available anywhere onboard, whether up in the flybridge, down in the salon or up in the bow tending anchor.
Jeppesen Plan2Nav is the only mobile app developed for C-MAP by Jeppesen electronic charts. The app is free and includes a worldwide background map, with the option to purchase full-featured Jeppesen cartography with large coverage areas and advanced C-MAP 4D MAX content. These charts unlock a variety of features for the user, including detailed harbor charts with Jeppesen's exclusive C-Marina Port Database, marina diagrams and aerial images, Dynamic Tides and Current Predictions, detailed depth and land elevation data, and the option to view charts in 2D or Jeppesen's unique Perspective View format.
