(JPSA), will be hosting a technology seminar highlighting laser processing techniques applicable to the solar, LED, semiconductor, microelectronic manufacturing and biomedical industries. This technology seminar, held at Courtyard Marriott, Raleigh Durham Airport on March 1st will be the first in the 2011 series of seminars offered by JPSA. JPSA President, Charlie Cuneo said, "The JPSA Applications Laboratory is continually developing new laser processing techniques in response to requests from customers from a broad range of industries. The JPSA Technical Seminar series is our opportunity to share details of these novel and enabling micromachining processes with researchers, engineers and managers."

JPSA will present the latest developments in laser micromachining technology, and how they impact cutting©edge Semicon, Solar and LED applications.

The guest speaker at the seminar will be Dr. Robert Karlicek Jr. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, who will present recent work on LED lighting. Dr. Karlicek, is currently the Director of Smart Lighting Engineering Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an NSF and industry funded program exploring advanced applications for next generation lighting.

Cuneo added, "We are honored to have Dr. Karlicek speaking at the seminar. His expert knowledge in lasers, LED, and device fabrication will help others learn of recent advancements in the LED lighting industry."
