JENCOLOR color sensors pass accuracy and temperature stability tests

Jena, May 26, 2008 - MAZeT GmbH, an international product and design house for color and spectral sensoring, presents its highly temperature-stable and uniquely precise JENCOLOR True-Color color sensors. These quality features necessary for color controlling RGB-LEDs have been confirmed in comprehensive testing: deviations in light color and changes in color temperature under all operating conditions were found to be below levels perceivable by the human eye. At stand 328 in hall 7, the leading provider of True-Color sensors and sensor modules also showcased its extensive range of high-precision solutions for controlling and color-controlling LEDs.

MAZeT subjected its JENCOLOR True-Color color sensors to extensive accuracy and temperature stability tests for the purposes of color controlling RGB-LEDs. The color measurements taken were referenced to a spectrometer. In the temperature range from 0 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius, the deviations in light color and changes in color temperature were far below levels perceivable by the human eye. Comparison tests with RGB sensors yielded deviations in the temperature range under review, which were detectable by both the measuring equipment and the human eye. "The tests confirm MAZeT's product strategy of deploying interference filters with a spectral characteristic according to DIN 5033 for use with high-performance color sensors," explains Frank Krumbein, division manager for Color and Spectral Sensoring at MAZeT. "The human eye is particularly sensitive to differences in color and often interprets any disruption to the color homogeneity in lighting systems as poor quality." LED light controls are used for example, when constructing widely spaced RGB light sources with several LED emitters that are intended to create a homogeneous color impression.
