Ipsen, Inc.
984 Ipsen Road
Cherry Valley, IL, 61016

Press release date: February 26, 2014

CHERRY VALLEY, IL – The first Ipsen U class of the year, held in February, was a huge success for attendees. Sixteen attendees completed the course, including individuals who traveled from all over the globe to glean information from Ipsen’s experts. Students came from Alabama, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire and Wisconsin, as well as from Poland and Japan!

During the class, instructors not only presented information, but also offered visual, hands-on experiences for the attendees. One highlight from this Ipsen U was a hands-on, leak testing exercise. Several leaks were pre-established and a volunteer worked his way around a furnace to find them. This was a great learning experience particularly for those expecting new furnace shipments.

Ipsen U is a practical course for building and refreshing thermal processing equipment knowledge. Ipsen U addresses all levels of experience in an open-forum environment that encourages attendees to ask questions about specific equipment and processes. The class follows a modular format that allows participants to interact with several Ipsen experts and have their specific questions answered. Ipsen U allows customers direct access to information that transfers furnace maintenance and upkeep into their own hands.

Topics include introductions to vacuum furnaces, heat treating, units of measure, furnace components and subsystems, leak detection and maintenance. The class toured the facility to see examples of Ipsen’s furnace capabilities and enjoyed the opportunity to share tips and experiences with others.

When all the information was disseminated, tours given and questions answered, participants received shirts and certificates recognizing them for participating in the course. Congratulations, February Ipsen U graduates!

To register for the next Ipsen U, contact Kristine Stewart at 815-332-2622 or or register online at Plan to attend one of these sessions: April 8-10, June 3-5, August 5-7 or Oct. 7-9. You can also arrange a custom Ipsen U to be conducted at your facility that is specifically tailored to your equipment and process needs.
