Ipanema Technologies Names Houda Chabir Vice President of North American Operations

WAN Application Traffic Management System Provider Also Moves North American Operations to Waltham, Mass.

WALTHAM, Mass., Feb. 26, 2007-- Ipanema Technologies, the leader in application traffic management systems for wide-area networks (WANs), today announced that Houda Chabir, formerly vice president of business development for the firm, has been named vice president of North American operations.

Chabir has 15 years of software industry experience. Before Ipanema, Chabir served as sales director for Eastern U.S and Canada for Ilog, a public software and services company. Previously, she was director of sales for ILOG's Communication Division in Southern Europe and France. Prior to that, she was senior account manager for Verilog, which provides products and professional services for advanced systems and software development. Chabir has a specialized master's degree in international business from the Institute of International Business and a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Bordeaux. She also took coursework in marketing and economics at the University of California, Berkeley.

In addition, the firm said it has moved its North American headquarters from Concord, Mass., to a larger facility in Waltham, Mass.

According to Chabir, "In our short time in the North American market, we are already working with several local enterprises. In addition, many global companies such as Sephora, L'Oreal, Sanofi-Aventis, Europcar and Rhodia rely on Ipanema to guarantee the performance of their critical applications and reduce their telecom costs. We will leverage recent North American successes and global reference accounts to prove our business value to prospective customers here."

Ipanema's solution is the only automated and scalable system that adapts to any network condition and easily guarantees critical application performance. It relieves network administrators from the tedious tasks of policy-driven WAN optimization. Ipanema provides the missing automated link between application performance objectives and network behavior. Ipanema's solution is self-configuring, self-optimizing and self-healing. As such it is highly scalable, very easy to operate and offers the lowest total cost of ownership in the industry.

Network integrators market the Ipanema system to enterprises, while telecom service providers and network managed service providers offer it as a service.

Ipanema has strong partnership in Europe with well-known service providers such as BT Global Services, Vanco, BT Infonet and Orange Business Services, which have successfully deployed Ipanema's solution in Europe.

Chabir added, "These partners have or will soon launch managed services in the U.S, and we are committed to support them, guarantee their success and win new customers together."

In addition, Ipanema is in discussions with several North American telecommunication providers, which see its Business Network Optimization solution as a way to bridge the gap between the enterprise's business priorities and the network infrastructure to guarantee an alignment between IT capabilities with business goals.

The new location of Ipanema's North American operations is at 300 Fifth Avenue, 3rd Floor, Waltham, Mass., 02351. Ipanema can be reached at 781 419 6526 (phone), 781 419 6527 (fax) or info.us@ipanematech.com.
