International Titanium Association Announces TITANIUM EUROPE 2013

DENVER -- Expanding its reach to serve the global titanium industry, the International Titanium Association (ITA) Northglenn, CO, will organize and host TITANIUM EUROPE 2013 Conference and Expo, which will run the 5-7(th) of March, 2013 at the Grand Elysee Hotel in Hamburg, Germany. TITANIUM EUROPE 2013 will provide a new platform to gain insights into the European titanium industry and serve as a premier networking venue for business executives.

The ITA has issued a call for papers for TITANIUM EUROPE 2013. Early-bird registration and reservations for exhibition space are now available. Visit the ITA Website (www.titanium.org) or by E-mail (ita@titanium.org) or Telephone (1-303-404-2221) for details.

"In response to the requests of our European members and in our continued involvement with the REACH Consortium efforts, the ITA has expanded its services with the intent on hosting a European conference and exhibition regularly," Jennifer Simpson, executive director of the ITA, said.

Michael Metz, current ITA president and president of VSMPO Tirus US, said the European forum "represents an efficient, cost-effective way for delegates to meet potential partners, customers and vendors." The gathering is expected to "attract producers, distributors, designers and fabricators from all parts of the world," he noted.

Dr. Markus Holz, managing director of ALD Vacuum Technologies Inc., ITA board of director, and TITANIUM EUROPE 2013 conference chair, expressed confidence that "TITANIUM EUROPE will meet the expectations of the EU delegates. The ITA recognizes the need to offer a more focused event in Europe to continue to benefit the titanium industry as a whole."

TITANIUM EUROPE 2013 delegates will have the chance to visit the Airbus Hamburg facility. Hamburg, the headquarters of Airbus Deutschland and the largest site in Germany, employs more than 10,000 people. Final assembly takes place here for three of the A320 Family's four members: the A318, A319 and A321. As headquarters for Airbus' Centre of Excellence - Fuselage and Cabin, Hamburg is the site where the A320 Family aircraft and the A380 are fitted with their cabin interiors and painted for final delivery. Hamburg's many years of manufacturing experience goes into fuselage structural assembly and systems installation, making it part of the Centre of Excellence Fuselage and Cabin. Hamburg produces complete fuselage sections for the A380, which are shipped to France on a specially-built roll-on, roll-off ferry. "We are grateful to Airbus for providing the ITA with such a unique opportunity," said Simpson.

Over the past decade, attendance at the ITA's North American TITANIUM conferences has doubled, drawing delegates from more than 30 countries. This growth has occurred as the titanium industry's international supply chain has expanded and become more complex. TITANIUM 2011, hosted in California, USA, attracted over 1,100 delegates. TITANIUM 2012 will be held 7-10(th) of October 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and anticipates 1,000 delegates.

The World Titanium Industry Demand Trends speaker panel is expected to be a highlight session for TITANIUM EUROPE. Much like the annual North American conferences, this panel will bring together top global industry leaders to address important market developments and identify leading-edge trends that affect major titanium business segments.

Commercial aerospace plays an important role in the titanium industry in Europe, led by Airbus. Europe also has a vibrant industrial market for titanium, with power generation, desalination, chemical processing equipment, and heat exchangers all having a large manufacturing base there. Medical manufacturing companies are also very prominent in Europe, as is the market for energy exploration equipment. In all, Europe has a very diverse and active titanium market, which we plan to highlight at this conference.
