Intercim - Pertinence Merger Complete

EAGAN, Minn., July 25 /-- Intercim, Inc. and Pertinence, S.A. formally closed the merger they announced in June, forming Intercim, LLC headquartered in suburban St. Paul, Minn. Combining the industry leaders in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Manufacturing Intelligence (EMI) positions Intercim as a leader in the Manufacturing Operations software market.

"The manufacturing operations gap between product development and the supply chain is a constant challenge to companies working in advanced and highly regulated industries," said John Todd, Intercim CEO. "Until now, there's not been a complete solution to manage the end-to-end production processes critical to integrating our global customers' extended enterprises. In addition to the intrinsic value delivered by Intercim's products, our capabilities enhance the investments our clients have made in PLM, ERP and other enterprise deployments," he said.

Intercim today serves industry leaders in aerospace, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors and automotive production on a global basis. Its software manages a wide range of industry-specific processes from airplane and rocket engine assembly to vaccine production and composites fabrication.

Intercim's product direction supports what AMR Research coins "Manufacturing 2.0'. According to AMR Research's Colin Masson in a July 2007 article*, "new architectures and approaches are needed to orchestrate the narrowly focused and site-specific manufacturing services that traditional MES and other manufacturing operations software applications provide." Intercim's expanded brand of manufacturing operations solutions supports that approach.

"The combination of traditional MES capabilities, operations intelligence, quality systems and tight integration with PLM and other enterprise systems offers our customers both breadth and depth," said Judson Plapp, Intercim VP marketing. "Our robust, modular product and multi-industry domain expertise allows our customers a level of flexibility and manufacturing control never before available from a single provider."

In addition to analyst support, Intercim has received endorsements from its technology partners Dassault Systemes and Microsoft.
