Institute to Host Meeting on Format for Future ANSI Caucuses

In lieu of its monthly Caucus meeting, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will hold an informal gathering on Friday, September 4, to address ways to make future Caucus meetings more valuable for attendees.

The monthly ANSI Caucus lunch, a long-standing tradition for the Institute, has always been an opportunity for stakeholders to gain insight from relevant speakers while networking with colleagues from other organizations. But as the standards and conformity assessment community has continued to grow and diversify, Caucus members have been discussing ways that attendees may gain more value from these gatherings.

"One suggestion that we received was to begin Caucus meetings as Members-only forums on a particular policy issue of general interest, which may also be the same issue that will be addressed by that month's speaker," said Scott Cooper, ANSI vice president of government relations and public policy. "After the Members-only discussion, the ANSI Caucus would then continue as usual with an open networking opportunity and all attendees (Members and non-Members) could listen to the speaker's presentation and participate in the usual question-and-answer session."

In order to gauge interest in this suggested format and other ways to bring more value to the Caucus meetings, ANSI is hosting a luncheon for all interested stakeholders to provide their input. The meeting will be held at the Institute's Washington, DC, office on September 4 at 12:00 p.m.
