Inrad Optics Receives 4th Installment of $2.2M Year IDIQ Contract for Metal Head Mirrors

Northvale, NJ - Inrad Optics (OTC Bulletin Board: INRD) announced today that it has received a contract order totaling $585,553 from the U.S. Army Contracting Command in Warren, MI to provide precision metal optical mirrors for use in tank fire control systems. The original 5 year IDIQ contract, awarded in April of 2012, has a maximum value of $2.2 million, and previous releases totaling just over $1 Million.

Inrad Optics' recent consolidation of the Sarasota, Florida metal optics production facility into their Northvale, NJ operations center was completed earlier this year and the company is well prepared to begin production on the new requirement.

Precision metal optics carry out an important duty in modern tank warfare. The electro-optic fire control systems that give tanks their ability to shoot on the move are built around precision single axis metal mirrors. Inrad Optics has a long history producing these mirrors to the military’s exacting optical and mechanical standards.

Amy Eskilson, Inrad Optics CEO commented, “Inrad Optics has once again been selected to provide an essential components of the high performance fire control system used in the M1A1 military vehicle. As planned, our recent consolidation efforts have positioned us for success as we execute on this new contract. We are eager to exploit the new advantages of vertical integration, from fabrication through thin film coating and final assembly.”
