Press release date: December 11, 2007

Slough, United Kingdom, 11th December 2007 - Ingres Corporation, the leading open source information management company for enterprise applications, today announced that it has hired three seasoned executives to further strengthen its executive management team. Reporting directly to CEO and President Roger Burkhardt, Ketan Karia and Tracy Eiler will head up the company's worldwide marketing efforts, while Richard Mosher becomes Ingres' general counsel. All three bring many years of strategic experience to their new roles.

"Over the last year, Ingres has made excellent progress in establishing a powerful presence in the open source enterprise software market," said Roger Burkhardt, president and CEO. "We are thrilled to have attracted talent that can continue the momentum, bringing the high-level strategic experience and global expertise to take us to the next level. This includes expanding Ingres' presence in the open source community, establishing a much more interactive web presence, and developing a deeper ecosystem of partners."

New Marketing Leadership

Karia and Eiler will divide marketing duties, with Karia based in London as the senior vice president of marketing working closely with the sales and field marketing teams worldwide, and the marketing of global partnerships. Eiler is based in Redwood City, Calif., as senior vice president of corporate marketing, overseeing all aspects of corporate communications, including public relations, industry analyst relations and working with the Ingres team to expand the company's presence in the open source community.

Ketan Karia comes to Ingres most recently from Sybase where he was responsible for strategic programs and international marketing. With nearly thirty years in high technology at companies such as Sybase, Cognos, Ardent (later named Ascential) and International Computers Ltd., Karia brings a wealth of hands-on experience in creating and implementing strategic marketing programs for both start-ups and established companies.

Tracy Eiler has held a number of high-level strategic marketing positions in Silicon Valley. Most recently, she was the vice president of global marketing at Postini, Inc., a software-as-a-service security company. Postini was recently acquired by Google in July 2006 for $625M. She was responsible for the company's market and brand strategy including developing programs to generate demand for Postini's products worldwide.

Prior to Postini, Tracy spent 11 years at NASDAQ-listed Business Objects, where as vice president of corporate communications, she oversaw all aspects of the company's worldwide communications efforts.

New General Counsel

Richard Mosher is the company's new general counsel. Most recently, he was the general counsel at SNOCAP, the San Francisco-based provider of digital licensing and copyright management services for digital music. Previously, Mosher was general counsel for Intellisync Corporation in San Jose, CA, a NASDAQ-listed mobile software company. While at Intellisync, Mr. Mosher oversaw the company's worldwide legal function and acted as a lead representative in the company's acquisition by Nokia, Inc. in February 2006 for $480M.
