USA

Press release date: April 2, 2007

Annandale, N.J. - April 2, 2007 - Ingersoll Rand now offers extra value to dealers and end-users through its unique buying process for the new IQV(TM) Series cordless tools. IQV Choice gives customers the option of choosing the tools and accessories they want to purchase through an à la carte list of products.

In speaking to distributors, dealers and end-users of cordless tools, Ingersoll Rand learned of frustration with standard packaging of cordless tools. Traditionally, cordless tool manufacturers have bundled the tool, charger and batteries into a single kit. Many kits include multiple tools, batteries and accessories. This means customers often must purchase products that they don't want or need.

"We're committed to delivering productivity through enhanced performance and cost savings for our customers," said Mike Walker, business manager for Ingersoll Rand Productivity Solutions. "Our IQV battery technology provides our customers with a unique opportunity to purchase only the products they truly need."

The Ingersoll Rand IQV family was designed to operate with both lithium-ion and nickel-cadmium battery chemistries in all tools and are compatible with a single battery charger. This means you don't' have to buy batteries and a charger for each tool you own. IQV Choice allows customers to choose the type and quantity of tools, batteries and accessories then add on to their toolbox as their business needs.

"It's about putting the power of choice in our customers' hands," said Walker. "Our customers are operating businesses that have to be profitable and IQV Choice enables them to better manage costs."

To make it easy for customers to buy into the IQV Series, Ingersoll Rand also offers convenient IQV starter packs for its top selling Impactools(TM). The starter packs include one cordless tool, one charger, one battery and a 20" tool bag, made of double-lined ballistic nylon for durability. The Starter Packs complement the IQV Choice purchase program by simplifying the initial purchase of the most popular Ingersoll Rand cordless tools.

Released last fall, the IQV Series includes 19 different tool models, six battery models, a universal battery charger, battery analyzer and a full line of accessories.
