Infortrend RAID Array Qualifies for Symantec's VERITAS Enabled Program

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 17 - RAID storage expert Infortrend(R) announced today that its EonStor(R) F16F-R2021 Fibre-to-Fibre, redundant controller RAID subsystem has passed qualification testing for Symantec's VERITAS Enabled(TM) Program, an industry-wide technology partner program overseen by Symantec Corp. and designed to enable truly heterogeneous storage environments. Infortrend joins over 120 vendors of storage hardware, operating systems, network equipment, servers, databases, and applications as a member of Symantec's VERITAS Enabled Program.

The EonStor F16F-R2021 was tested with Symantec's VERITAS Cluster Server 4.0 in a SAN environment including switches from Brocade Communications Systems, Inc., servers and software from Sun Microsystems, Inc., and products from other VERITAS Enabled suppliers. Testing on this subsystem was completed in October 2005 and Infortrend plans to submit other RAID arrays for verification testing in the future.

"Symantec is committed to efficiently working with an ever expanding group of partners to create an enterprise technology environment that is as pain-free as possible to deploy, maintain, and evolve," said Raja Srinivasan, senior manager of Symantec's Technology Partner Program. "By successfully completing VERITAS Enabled Program testing, the Infortrend EonStor F16F-R2021 has proven it is able to integrate with Symantec software and supports the industry's widest selection of applications, operating systems, servers, and appliances."

"When selecting equipment for their complex, multi-vendor networks, IT managers look for market-leading products with guaranteed interoperability and support," said Tony Chu, president of Infortrend Corporation. "Certification in Symantec's VERITAS Enabled Program brings all of these elements together and assures our customers that Infortrend EonStor RAID arrays will work seamlessly with Symantec software as well as with products from other program partners."
