Infinite Power Solutions Receives Multiple Industry Awards for Thinergy® Clean Energy Storage Technology

Littleton, Colo., 2010-Infinite Power Solutions (IPS) announced today that it has recently received several industry awards for its THINERGY® Micro-energy Cell (MEC) family of products-the Energy Harvesting & Storage USA and Wireless Sensor Networks Award and Selezione di Elettronica magazine's Innovation Award. These latest achievements follow on the heels of multiple awards and accolades that IPS received earlier this year. THINERGY MECs are revolutionary solid-state, rechargeable, energy storage solutions that deliver safe and clean power in a paper-thin form factor for today's electronic devices and systems.

Just last week, IPS and ITT Corporation jointly received the Energy Harvesting & Storage USA and Wireless Sensor Networks 2010 Award in the category of Best Application of Wireless Sensor for their collaborative work in developing predictive condition-based monitoring systems for manufacturing equipment. In this collaboration, energy is harvested from the vibration of the manufacturing equipment and stored in the THINERGY MECs, which power processors that collect safety and process-critical information. This information is continuously transmitted to ITT's ProSmart(TM) module, which analyzes the data to diagnose machine health every five seconds-enabling equipment operators to be notified virtually in real time of any changes in equipment performance. Both companies were presented with the award during a ceremony at the Energy Harvesting & Storage USA 2010 conference in Cambridge, Mass.

In addition, the Selezione di Elettronica Innovation Awards honor microelectronic products at the forefront of technology. Products from 12 categories were nominated by manufacturers and screened by journalists, technicians and other staff members of Selezione di Elettronica. Readers then voted on the products to narrow the list of finalists. Finally, a panel of journalists, technicians, professors and specialists selected the best product in each category. IPS' THINERGY MEC product family won in the "Power Systems" category.

"It's an honor to have our THINERGY MEC family recognized by such prestigious organizations," stated Tim Bradow, IPS' vice president of marketing. "The many accolades that our THINERGY products have received over the past year are testament not only to their strength in delivering unmatched battery performance, cycle life and service lifetime, but also the talent and expertise of our employees who are at the core of our company's and products' success."

Introduced last year, IPS' THINERGY family of MEC products are safe, reusable and 'clean' energy storage solutions that deliver a lifetime of power to micro-electronic systems without the prohibitive cost of battery replacement, maintenance and recycling, creating a micro-power solution with the lowest available total cost of ownership. Combining these attributes with an ultra-thin and flexible form factor makes THINERGY MECs ideal for enhancing existing products and enabling innovative new products across a broad spectrum of markets from medical devices to aerospace, energy harvesting applications and consumer electronics.
