Industry Leaders Join Safety Partnership for 2010 National Robot Safety Conference
ANN ARBOR, Michigan - The Robotic Industries Association (RIA) announced that six industry leading companies have joined with the Association to form the Partnership for Collaborative Safety for the National Robot Safety Conference XXII. The partnership seeks to advance robot and machine safety through participation in this year's conference. The 22nd annual event (September 27-29 in Indianapolis, Indiana), sponsored by the RIA, features the first public release of the much anticipated R15.06 (2011) Robot Safety Standard Draft.
Several companies have joined with initial partner, PIAB Vacuum Products, to expand its coverage. The companies: DENSO Robotics, Frommelt Safety Products, IPR Robotics, Omron STI and Pilz Automation Safety L.P., are all members of RIA.
"DENSO Robotics, Omron STI, PIAB and Pilz also participated in the partnership in 2009. They recognized the value of belonging to help disseminate the message of safety. They have renewed their commitment to the partnership and to safety for this year's event," said Jeffrey A. Burnstein, President, Robotic Industries Association. "By joining as first-time partners, Frommelt Safety Products and IPR Robotics underscore the importance of this training opportunity and their dedication to spreading the news about safety."
RIA's work includes industry training to promote the safe and successful adoption of robots in the workplace. Members of the partnership help propagate RIA's message of safety and training. Their customers, prospects and others can benefit by attending the workshops and conference.
The conference is an example of how the Association and its partners work together to assist users with their automation safety needs. RIA is the official secretariat of the RIA/ANSI R15.06 National Robot Safety Standard and provides in-depth training on the standard and on the coming changes at the conference. The training helps workers understand and implement risk assessment and ensure standards compliance.
"All six partners will also be exhibiting at the conference's tabletop trade fair on September 28. We invite and look forward to additional companies joining our partnership for Indianapolis," said Burnstein.
