Automation Associates has developed the adaptation of a controlled pitch tapping unit to replace the air operated tapping head on older high production tapping machines from other manufacturers.
These tapping units advance taps at the exact pitch of the tap using interchangeable feed gears. Tap holders are quick change (No tools required), and are available as rigid or full floating styles.
Upgrades include changing both the electrical and pneumatic controls for a simplified low maintenance operator friendly, Interfaced with a PLC & OIT. Also available are AC inverters for variable spindle spindle speed, and increased RPM on the retract stroke.
We offer a complete selection of adjustable and fixed center multiple spindle heads for tapping clusters of holes simultaneously, We have developed a complete line of standard work holding and positioning fixtures which are available completely tooled for specific parts and production requirements, from simple hand load, magazine fed or fully automatic systems with vibratory orienting feeders.
