Press release date: February 12, 2007

3GSM, Barcelona, February 12th 2007: With many of its technologies shipping in the latest cellphone, in-car, digital radio and mobile TV products Imagination Technologies - a leader in mobile multimedia technologies - is demonstrating how those technologies are evolving to bring further advancements to mobile gaming, UI, entertainment and navigation as well as showing the graphics and video technologies being adopted by manufacturers now for the next generation of mobile multimedia at 3GSM 2007.

On Imagination Technologies' stand show-goers will see the advanced gaming and multimedia capabilities of mobile phone handsets from companies such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Sharp, NEC, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi and Samsung.

Development boards from Imagination's partners, which include Texas Instruments, Renesas, Intel and Freescale, will show the content capabilities coming soon to handsets.

Key demonstrations from Imagination Technologies include: the first public showing of a PowerVR SGX OpenGL ES 2.0 silicon device showing a variety of advanced shader effects; Imagination Technologies multi-standard mobile TV IP platform; PowerVR VXD 370 multi-standard, multi-stream HD capable video decoder technology; and PowerVR enabled acceleration of OpenGL ES 1.x, OpenVG, Java and Adobe Flash content.

Imagination Technologies' stand also features demonstrations from software developers including: Acrodea, Aspyr Media, Digital Legends, Futuremark, Firemint, Great Ape Software, Ideaworks3D, Kishonti, NetDimension, Notorious Solutions, Omegame, Polarbit, TAO Group, TAT, Vizrt and Warelex.

Also on show are the latest technologies for mobile digital audio, digital radio, display and mobile video. These will include the public debut of an Internet Radio demo based on Imagination's multi-threaded META processor, running Linux. The combination of Internet Radio functionality with Imagination's existing DAB and FM technology forms a full Radio Platform.

Imagination Technologies offers a comprehensive array of licensable Intellectual Property (IP) targeted towards System-on-Chip (SoC) semiconductor devices for mobile multimedia applications such as: smart and feature phones; multimedia computers; mobile TV; personal media players; and ultra-mobile PCs (UPMC). Imagination works closely with its licensees, which include many of the world's top ten semiconductor vendors and some of the most innovative new start-ups, to create advanced solutions driving the future of mobile multimedia.

Imagination Technologies Key IP Products at 3GSM 2007 Imagination Technologies' PowerVR MBX is the de facto standard for mobile 3D, 2D and vector graphics acceleration, being used by the majority of the top ten semiconductor companies for their mobile graphics solutions.

The PowerVR SGX programmable graphics processing unit (GPU) family targets next generation mobile embedded multimedia processing. PowerVR SGX enables a powerful and flexible solution for all forms of multimedia processing, including 3D/2D/vector graphics, advanced anti-aliasing, video codecs, and image processing.

PowerVR MBX and SGX are complemented by the PowerVR Insider ecosystem programme, which provides comprehensive support for developers, publishers and middleware developers and extensive co-marketing opportunities for OEMs, ODMs, content developers and semiconductor companies.

The PowerVR video codec family provides a range of video decoders and encoders covering a wide range of standards including H.264, H.263, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, WMV9/VC-1 and DivX.

Imagination's range of display IP includes pixel display pipeline, TV out and image enhancement technologies.

The mobile TV receiver IP platform is a complete low-power demodulation solution for multi-standard receivers built around Imagination's Universal Communications Core (UCC). It is a true software defined radio solution, delivering an industry-leading, cost-effective, high performance, low power solution for DVB-H that also supports all major world-wide standards such as T-DMB, 'One Seg' ISDB-T and DAB-IP.

Imagination's UCC based IP solutions already dominate in markets such as Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB). By using the same engine for both TV and radio, system integrators can create a unique solution that appeals to truly mobile end users.

For radio as well as TV and video, audio quality is also a major consideration. Imagination's META processor family includes a broad range of audio decoders and audio enhancement algorithms.

For system management the META processor is specifically designed for high performance real time operation at low clock speeds, making the best possible use of memory bandwidth and providing exceptional tolerance of system latencies.

All of Imagination Technologies' IP is provided with complete documentation, responsive technical support and extensive software reference drivers, tutorial examples and APIs.
