ITW Purchases Assets of Yellow Jacket LLP

The assets of Yellow Jacket LLP have been purchased by Illinois Tool Works, Inc. (ITW). The Yellow Jacket brand name, equipment and sales/marketing focus will still remain, though they will move to the ITW Business Unit, ITW-GaleWrap in Douglasville, GA. The Yellow Jacket business will be led by GaleWrap's General Manager - Will Trantham. Yellow Jacket's application engineering expert Wayne Benson will also remain with the company.

Yellow Jacket provides orbital lock-down stretch wrap technology for secure, safe and superior pack-to-ship performance. The patented orbital stretch wrap technology locks standard, odd-shaped, long and other loads securely to the pallet right on the forks of the forklift, protecting loads against damage, dust and wind. Orbital stretch wrapping eliminates hand wrapping, banding, strapping and decreases injuries and the manpower needed to secure loads for shipping. Various machine diameters are available in manual, semi-automatic and automatic models.

ITW-GaleWrap's acquisition of the Yellow Jacket LLP assets is consistent with its marketing strategy to further automate the hand wrapping and manual palletizing processes across many industries. "The Yellow Jacket acquisition is a great fit for us," says GaleWrap General Manager Will Trantham. "We are really excited about this addition to our business and the opportunity to bring this technology to our customer base."

ITW-GaleWrap markets GaleWrap® Oriented Film and Oriented Equipment as an alternative to conventional hand wrapping. GaleWrap Oriented Film and Equipment offer increased wrapping productivity, enhanced employee safety, improved load containment and lower total pallet wrapping costs.
