SANTA ANA, CA - October 26, 2010 - ITT Interconnect Solutions (ICS), a leading global manufacturer and supplier of connectors, interconnects, and cable assemblies, has announced that its UK facility was recently awarded Silver Accreditation in the "Supply Chains for the Twenty-first Century" (SC21) national aerospace and defense supply chain improvement program. The SC21 was established four years ago with the intent of modernizing the UK supply chain through the participation of a wide range of companies. Of more than seven hundred companies in the SC21 program, ICS' Basingstoke facility becomes one of only six to reach silver status since the program's inception, and achieved the additional accolade of immediate elevation to silver level following an intensive year-long audit process.
ICS Basingstoke is a preferred supplier to Thales, who formally nominated it to join SC21 in early 2009. British Aerospace (BAe) also provided key support and encouragement to the company throughout the formal recognition process, which reflects the contribution and commitment of its supply chain. Being part of SC21 gives ICS the opportunity to network with other leading companies in the aerospace, defense and security sector; and to participate in a coordinated effort to improve the industry's overall supply chain. The network also provides the opportunity for ICS and other SC21 companies to learn of the latest developments in the sector at an early stage.
To maintain their Silver Accreditation, SC21 companies must undergo an annual re-accreditation process and demonstrate continuous improvement in business practices, manufacturing practices, quality and on-time delivery.

The formal presentation conferring SC21 accreditation on the company will take place at the SC21 Task Force meeting in November in Blackpool and will be attended by representatives from the UK Ministry of Defence, Airbus, British Aerospace, Thales, Bombardier, GE Aviation, Lockheed Martin UK and Rolls-Royce.
