ITAR: Best Practices Webinar -Next Wednesday, March 5th, 2008 11:00-1:30pm PST

SANTA CLARA, Calif. Thursday, February 28, 2008 - It's still not to late to register for the ITAR Best Practices webinar to be held next Wednesday, March 5th, 2008 from 11:00-1:30pm PST The ITAR: Best Practices webinar will benefit any defense company that seeks to ensure full compliance with U.S. federal government International Traffic in Arms Regulations requirements.

The U.S. Department of State expects the board of directors and senior management of U.S. companies purchasing or manufacturing printed circuit boards or assemblies for military or space applications to be knowledgeable about U.S. export controls on such items. These companies must exercise appropriate oversight of their export control compliance programs.

ITAR: Best Practices offers training to all employees involved with the Outsourced Manufacturing of Defense Articles. The webinar addresses a wide variety of issues and provides critical information for a diverse group of defense industry professionals. The training offers fundamental information for those who are new to the defense trade. It also provides information necessary for more experienced individuals who need to refresh and enhance their current understanding of regulatory compliance issues. ITAR: Best Practices helps these individuals to update and re-evaluate current company practices.

This webinar provides assistance in steering clear of the legal liabilities associated with Defense Trade non-compliance. Failure to be informed in this complex area of international trade can cause serious harm to your company. Stay on top of the rules and regulations governing Defense Trade and the fast-paced evolution of defense export licensing and compliance requirements that guard U.S. national security.

Many firms are now learning that products and technologies thought to be purely commercial/industrial in nature may actually be subject to control under ITAR.

About the Instructor:
The seminar will be conducted by Gary Stanley, president of Global Legal Services, a Washington, DC-based law firm focusing on trade compliance and other international business issues. Stanley represents, among others, numerous U.S., Canadian, and European companies on defense export control issues. Mr. Stanley has counseled numerous U.S. defense firms on securing U.S. Department of State and Directorate of Defense Trade Controls approvals of licenses, as well as manufacturing license and technical assistance agreements, under Parts 123 and 124 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and in using ITAR exemptions, including the Canadian exemption in ITAR §126.5.
