ISO, IEC, and ITU Announce 2010 Fully Networked Car Workshop
Abstracts now accepted for workshop presentations

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) would like to inform all interested stakeholders that The Fully Networked Car will be held on March 3-4, 2010, as part of the Geneva Motor Show. The workshop, which highlights information and communication technologies (ICT) in motor vehicles, is organized annually by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
2010 marks the fifth year that ISO, IEC, and ITU will hold The Fully Networked Car, bringing together the key players involved in the development of standards for safety and security, navigation, car maintenance, fleet management, and mobile office and entertainment for motor vehicles. The event provides an opportunity for representatives from the car industry, the ICT community, governments, research and development institutes, and academia to share their vision and strategies.
A particular focus in this year's workshop will be the latest developments in technology and network requirements for electric vehicles.
Event organizers are currently accepting abstracts to be considered for presentations during the workshop's technical sessions. Topics for the presentations include the car industry's perspective and ICT solutions; ICTs and climate change; wireless systems and technology; and long term perspectives on mobile services, applications, and car technologies.
Authors wishing to submit a proposal for a presentation should submit a one-page abstract, including the title of the presentation, the author's full name, affiliation, a short biography, address, telephone and e-mail, to tsbcar@itu.int by December 1, 2009.
