February 11 Event Features CPO Panel Discussion on the Future of Procurement, Talent Transformation
New York, NY — Supply management and procurement professionals make an important and often under-reported contribution to their companies’ health and vitality. The opportunity to operate in a global marketplace, and to leverage new technologies, make their careers more exciting than ever. But like so many professions, supply management and procurement are “off the radar” for many Millennials, whose talents will be needed as Baby Boomers in the industry continue to retire.
That’s one of the central themes that panelists will discuss during the February 11, 2014 meeting of the Institute for Supply Management’s New York chapter (ISM-New York) organized with ThomasNet.com and hosted by Morgan Stanley. A panel of Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs) will discuss The Future of Procurement, Talent & Transformation, including Erin Gallagher, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Gaurav Saini, Morgan Stanley, and Linda Topping, Colgate-Palmolive. William Ng, Editor-in-Chief of ThomasNet News, will moderate the discussion.
The meeting will continue ISM-New York’s Centennial celebration, looking to “The Next 100 Years” in supply management. In October, ISM-New York and ThomasNet.com kicked off the celebration with a special event marking their longstanding partnership to advance the profession. Both have been collaborating since 1913, when they helped form the organization that is now ISM-New York, the first chapter of the national ISM.
The February 11 event will take place at Morgan Stanley, 750 Seventh Avenue, Fourth Floor (between 49th and 50th Street) in Manhattan. A cocktail reception will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by the President’s Greeting at 6:15 and CPO Panel Discussion at 6:30 pm.
All participants must register at least 48 hours in advance and bring photo identification. The guest fee is $45 and registration is via this link: http://events.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=yuhtowdab&oeidk=a07e8tomd8q8b8946b5.
