Press release date: December 13, 2011

Immediate Response Technologies, Inc. (IRT), an ISO 9001-2008 certified, U.S. manufacturer of National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved respirators and emergency response shelters, has been granted a Certificate of SAFETY Act Designation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). IRT's Powered and Non-Powered Air Purifying Respirator Technology satisfies the criteria set forth by the SAFETY Act and has been designated as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology (QATT).

The Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002 (the SAFETY Act) was enacted as part of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (Title VIII, Subtitle G). The goal of the SAFETY Act is to encourage the development and deployment of new and innovative anti-terrorism technologies including products, services, software and other intellectual property by providing a system of liability protections. Protections apply only to claims arising from, relating to, or resulting from an Act of Terrorism. An Anti- Terrorism Technology is considered to be any technology that is designed, developed, modified or procured for preventing, detecting, identifying, or deterring acts of terrorism or limiting the harm that such acts might otherwise cause.

The SAFETY Act Designation issued on November 23, 2011 by DHS covers IRT's C420 and PureAir powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) systems as well as the Promask 2000 and M95 Full Facepiece air purifying respirator (APR) systems. IRT respiratory products are also approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health as mandated by 42 CFR Part 84, which establishes the minimum requirements for determining the effectiveness of respirators used during entry into or escape from hazardous atmospheres.

Visit IRT's website at www.imresponse.com to see a full line of respirator and filter products as well as other product lines including shelters products and thermal identification products supporting our war fighters, first responders and other valued customers.
