Press release date: April 12, 2007

Demand for leaded products continues months after RoHS-compliance deadline passes...

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (April 12, 2007) - Providing design engineers with several product options to best suit their applications, TT electronics IRC Advanced Film Division will continue to offer both RoHS-compliant and leaded versions of the majority of their products. This offering applies to IRC's low value current sense components, precision chips, and networks.

According to Steve Wade, director of sales and marketing for IRC's Advanced Film Division, there has been a demand from customers for both types of products. "Even though the RoHS-compliant deadline has passed, customers are still seeking leaded products in applications other than military," said Wade. "It is entirely up to the customer to determine which product-RoHS-compliant or leaded-will best suit their application. We will continue to provide both options for our customers as long as there is sufficient demand."

IRC manufactures the following products in both RoHS-compliant and leaded versions: BGA Series; CHC Series; LRC Series; LRF Series; LRF3W Series; LRZ Series; GUS Series; PCF Series; PFC (commercial) Series; QSOP Series; RTD Series; SC-3 Series; SOIC Series; SON Series; and SOT Series.

Since they are exempt from the RoHS-compliance standards, IRC's military products are only offered with tin/lead terminations.

IRC's datasheets indicate that the majority of its products have a RoHS-compliant version available, with specific ordering instructions for the tin-lead terminations.
