IQMS Customer Wins Manufacturer of the Year Award
The Manufacturing Leadership Community recognized Nicolet Plastics, Inc. as its 2013 Manufacturer of the Year small enterprise; IQMS brings home special President’s Award
PASO ROBLES, CALIF. – IQMS, a manufacturing ERP software and MES developer with an ongoing, proactive commitment to its product and relationships, today announced that Nicolet Plastics, Inc. received top honors as Manufacturer of the Year small enterprise by the Manufacturing Leadership Community, part of Frost Sullivan. Recognized with Ford Motor Company (large enterprise winner) for having carried out the most transformative projects reviewed this year, Nicolet Plastics was celebrated at a black-tie gala at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla. on May 15.
Total solutions manufacturer, Nicolet Plastics, was chosen as Manufacturer of the Year above 100 manufacturing top achievers for its company-wide Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) implementation. Through a variety of QRM initiatives that relied heavily on IQMS’ ERP and MES software solution, EnterpriseIQ, Nicolet Plastics embraced a relentless emphasis on lead time reduction, which has led to lower inventory levels, higher margins, more competitive pricing and increased market positioning.
“Every year, I witness two common trends at the Manufacturing Leadership Summit: Most ML100 leaders exhibit an ability to anticipate and react to market trends, as well as utilize innovative technologies, such as state-of-the-art ERP and MES software, to achieve competitive advantage,” said Daniele Fresca, IQMS director of marketing. “Eleven IQMS customers have won ML100 Awards since 2010 and I believe they are excellent examples of those trends and of manufacturing excellence.”
In addition to Nicolet Plastics’ sweeping win, IQMS was presented with a special honor: The Manufacturing Leadership Community’s President’s Award. The President’s Award is bestowed upon companies that emphatically promote the manufacturing industry and work hard to further the industry’s technology and development. To help make the evening a record-breaking event, five other IQMS customers took home seven ML100 awards on May 15, including:
KLW Plastics, Inc. in the Sustainability category for its unique blow molded container utilizing 60 percent post-consumer resin. Plastic Components, Inc. (PCI) in the Operational Excellence category for its completely unattended, state-of-the-art lights out facility. Plastikos, Inc. for two separate categories: The first in Operational Excellence for its collaboration with IQMS’ Automation Department programming staff on an automated production labeling and tool tracking initiative and the second in the Sustainability category.
Thogus Products Co. was also a winner in two separate categories: Thogus’ president, Matt Hlavin, was named one of the ML100’s Manufacturing Entrepreneurs, plus the Game-Changing Technologies category for its unique internal marketing department. Finally, Tribar Manufacturing achieved praise in the Information Leadership category for the re-embracement of its ERP software.
