Both Designate Binghamton University to Receive Honorary Funds
BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA, September 24, 2009 - Bypassing the ceremonial gold typically associated with 50-year anniversaries, Endicott Interconnect Technologies Inc. and Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego are celebrating their membership anniversaries with IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries® by donating back to the profession. The two companies were honored yesterday at IPC Midwest Conference & Exhibition for 50 years of continuous site membership.
Addressing an audience of leaders in the PCB manufacturing and electronics assembly industries at an IPC Midwest Awards Luncheon, IPC President & CEO Denny McGuirk remarked, "When you think of all of the changes in our industry, it's really a tribute to these companies and IPC to have maintained a strong, long-term relationship." Although Endicott Interconnect Technologies Inc. is a relative newcomer to the industry in its present form, both it and Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego have deep-rooted heritage ties to the industry. "It is IPC's privilege to salute two amazing pioneers that helped drive our industry in the early days and continue to lead today," McGuirk added.
Endicott Interconnect Technologies Inc. To help pass on the spirit of innovation to the industry's next generation, each company was asked to designate a university to which IPC will make a $1500 donation in their honor. Both companies chose the Small Scale Systems Integration and Packaging Center at Binghamton University in Binghamton, N.Y. as their designee. The Center will receive $3,000 for scholarships, equipment, or programs related to electronics manufacturing and printed board technology.
