Both Designate Binghamton University to Receive Honorary Funds

BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA, September 24, 2009 - Bypassing the ceremonial gold typically associated with 50-year anniversaries, Endicott Interconnect Technologies Inc. and Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego are celebrating their membership anniversaries with IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries® by donating back to the profession. The two companies were honored yesterday at IPC Midwest Conference & Exhibition for 50 years of continuous site membership.

Addressing an audience of leaders in the PCB manufacturing and electronics assembly industries at an IPC Midwest Awards Luncheon, IPC President & CEO Denny McGuirk remarked, "When you think of all of the changes in our industry, it's really a tribute to these companies and IPC to have maintained a strong, long-term relationship." Although Endicott Interconnect Technologies Inc. is a relative newcomer to the industry in its present form, both it and Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego have deep-rooted heritage ties to the industry. "It is IPC's privilege to salute two amazing pioneers that helped drive our industry in the early days and continue to lead today," McGuirk added.

Endicott Interconnect Technologies Inc. (EI) is a vertically integrated provider of electronics manufacturing solutions and equipment, supporting the needs of the defense and aerospace, communications and computing, semiconductor, advanced test equipment, and medical markets. Founded in November 2002, the company has expertise in PCB fabrication, advanced flip chip and wire bond semiconductor packaging, design and manufacture of electromechanical equipment and related services.

"EI is grateful to IPC for this recognition as we continue to expand the legacy of excellence at the Endicott site," said James Fuller, vice president, PWB Engineering. "We are also grateful to IPC for their many years of service to not only EI, but also the industry at large. Through their support of effective technical standards, timely and insightful market research, sponsorship of our trade shows, and educational programs for our industry colleagues, IPC has been and will continue to be the beacon that will help an industry navigate the stormy waters of this business."

Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego provides advanced-technology products and services and systems integration solutions to defense, civil and commercial customers worldwide.

"We are very proud and grateful to have been able to be a part of this organization for 50 years. The importance of consistent standards and specifications established by IPC is vital to the products and technology we provide our servicemen and women in harm's way," said Gary Brogdale, printed wiring board operations manager for Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego.

To help pass on the spirit of innovation to the industry's next generation, each company was asked to designate a university to which IPC will make a $1500 donation in their honor. Both companies chose the Small Scale Systems Integration and Packaging Center at Binghamton University in Binghamton, N.Y. as their designee. The Center will receive $3,000 for scholarships, equipment, or programs related to electronics manufacturing and printed board technology.
