Congressman Brad Schneider Visits Creation Technologies in Illinois

Briefing Co-hosted by IPC as Part of Continuing Effort to Connect IPC Members with Policymakers

BANNOCKBURN, Ill. — Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (D-IL-10) met with senior executives and employees of IPC member-company, Creation Technologies, in the company’s Wheeling, IL, prototyping and manufacturing facility. Coordinated by IPC, the meeting was part of an effort to help policymakers learn first-hand about legislative and regulatory issues that impact the electronics manufacturing industry.

“Ensuring we have a strong and expanding manufacturing industry is essential to our economic recovery,” Schneider said. “That’s why I am grateful that IPC hosted today’s visit to Creation Technologies — a key electronics manufacturer in our community — where I was able to talk with employees and discuss sensible ways we can help our manufacturers thrive.”

With business units across the USA, Canada, Mexico and China, Creation Technologies provides turnkey product design and electronics manufacturing services to OEMs in industries from medical to LED lighting.

“On behalf of Creation Technologies and IPC, I thank Congressman Schneider for his visit and his commitment to strengthen and grow our nation’s manufacturing sector by supporting the Revitalize American Manufacturing and Innovation (RAMI) Act. I had the pleasure of meeting with him at IMPACT 2014, IPC’s annual set of meetings between industry leaders and policymakers in Washington, D.C., and it was an honor to have him here today at our Chicago business unit,” said Creation President and CEO, Bhawnesh Mathur, who also serves as Chairman of the IPC Government Relations Steering Committee.

The RAMI bill (H.R. 2996/S.1468) is important legislation that, if passed by Congress, will establish multiple centers for manufacturing innovation operating as public-private partnerships, known as the Network for Manufacturing Innovation. As regional hubs, the centers would focus on different technology areas to accelerate and strengthen advanced manufacturing innovation in the United States.

Rep. Schneider’s visit was part of IPC’s “Meet the Policymakers” program, through which IPC government relations staff arrange opportunities for IPC member-companies to host elected officials at company locations. IPC member-companies interested in hosting a legislator should contact IPC Vice President of Government Relations John Hasselmann at JohnHasselmann@ipc.org.
