Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, announces today that it is showcasing its leading IMPAX(TM) Cardiovascular Suite with integrated Echocardiography module for the first time at EUROECHO, taking place in Lisbon, Portugal, from December 5th until 8th. Agfa HealthCare's patient-centric cardiovascular solution provides echocardiologists with consolidated access to cardiology images and data - from industry leading modalities and vendors. The solution enables structured reports to be easily created and distributed and images to be accessed from any in-hospital or remote location.
The intuitive Echocardiography module delivers the powerful capability to generate natural language reports in a wide variety of languages, facilitating information sharing between cardiologist, referring physician, and patient. The module offers a colorful, graphical presentation of measurement data aids trending analysis and follow up. The solution also enables researchand business intelligence data mining, offering user-friendly interfaces for querying. Robust, standards-based informatics features of the IMPAX Cardiovascular Suite include full integration with PACS, modalities, and hemodynamic systems; robust interfaces and connectivity to hospital information systems; and automated and customized submission to European and national registries.
Agfa HealthCare's regionalised IMPAX Cardiovascular Suite, first launched at ESC in Vienna in early September 2007, integrates multi-lingual, multimodality image and reporting capabilities, a result of Agfa HealthCare's unique patient-centric approach to image management and informatics. The solution supports improved productivity by providing fast and robust access to a consolidated view of all cross-modality cardiology and radiology images within a single review station. Built to satisfy the most demanding clinical workflow, the IMPAX Cardiovascular Suite delivers innovative features, including advanced image management functionalities, tightly integrated structured reporting, vendor-neutrality, legacy equipment image management, and secure global access to diagnostic data.
Agfa HealthCare's Echocardiography module facilitates the management of digital echocardiograms from Echo carts from a wide range of vendors. Through its structured report design, data entry is facilitated and follows the cardiologist's workflow. "We have installed our specialized Cardiology IT solutions in over 500 leading cardiology centers around the world," says Ciprian Albu, MD, MSc, Associate Medical Director of Agfa HealthCare's Imaging Informatics Business Unit.
