Press release date: July 27, 2006

July 27, 2006, Depew, NY, USA - IMI Sensors, a division of PCB Piezotronics, Inc., (PCB®) has announced new ATEX and CSA approval options for all Series 640, 4 to 20 mA industrial vibration transmitters. These approvals allow straightforward sensor installation into nearly all plant areas.

Series 640 industrial vibration transmitters adapt to existing PLC, DCS, alarm and control systems, for continuous vibration monitoring of machinery and equipment -at a fraction of the cost of dedicated monitoring systems. The sensors are loop-powered, and output a 4 to 20 mA signal proportional to peak or RMS vibration. By trending vibration levels, they protect plant machinery from catastrophic failure and downtime, and reduce the need for sophisticated vibration analysis, maintaining an uncomplicated-yet-accurate approach to vibration monitoring. Series 640 industrial vibration sensors are available with either side or top exit electrical connections, and a variety of integral cable and detachable connector configurations. Most models are available for immediate delivery without expediting fees.
