ILMA opens 2010 scholarship program application period.

2010 ILMA Scholarship Application Period Is Now Open



ALEXANDRIA, VA - Applications for the 2010-2011 ILMA Scholarship Program are now available and will be accepted through June 30.

Over the past nine years, ILMA has awarded 52 students scholarships. Of these, 23 have graduated from college and another 23 are still receiving funding and working toward their degrees. The applicant pool grows every year, with more than 80 applications received in 2009.

"The ILMA Scholarship Program is a great way for ILMA members to help the future leaders of tomorrow," Scholarship Committee Chair Anwer Hussain said. "Many students have already been helped because of this program; it's a wonderful attribute of ILMA and its members. I am looking forward to reviewing the new group of students eager to achieve their educational goals."

The requirements to apply for the Scholarship are outlined below, and are also available on the Scholarship Application page on the ILMA website. The website also has the application form, a promotional flyer for your company's office, as well as information on current scholarship recipients.

To be eligible, applicants must:

o be a citizen in a North American country

o enroll or be enrolled for the 2010-2011 academic year at a college or university in North America as an undergraduate

o register as a full-time student

o have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA)

Other factors taken into consideration, in the order listed, are:

o relationship to ILMA member company (excluding owners' children) this includes partial and minority owners

o financial need

o cumulative GPA

o preference will be given to those with majors in math, science and engineering.
