IDI Welcomes New SMC Operations Manager
NOBLESVILLE, INDIANA (USA) - IDI Composites International, the premier global formulator and manufacturer of thermoset molding compounds, announces the appointment of Christopher Templin to the position of SMC Operations Manager.
Mr. Templin will be responsible for all aspects of sheet molding compound (SMC) production, and will coordinate customer requirements and manufacturing schedules to ensure the highest levels of efficiency, throughput, and customer satisfaction.
As SMC Operations Manager, Mr. Templin will be responsible for preventative and predictive production line maintenance processes, product and process quality control initiatives, and employee selection, development, and training. He will also oversee all raw material supply acquisitions to reduce total production costs, which will ultimately result in lower costs for IDI's global customer base. In addition, Mr. Templin will implement various capital engineering projects to maintain IDI's position as an industry leader in the formulation and manufacture of thermoset SMC.
Prior to his promotion, Mr. Templin was a manufacturing engineer at IDI, managing the installation of new inventory tracking systems. In this position, he coordinated a major upgrade to IDI's SMC production line. Previously, he helped initiate cost savings programs for IDI's worldwide manufacturing facilities and lead the company through the ISO 9001:2000 registration process as Technical Project Manager. He also served as Production Supervisor, where he helped increase manufacturing volume while improving shipping efficiency. Mr. Templin began his career at IDI after graduation from Purdue University, where he earned a B.S. in Business Management.
