Hypertherm Introduces Expanded Fiber Laser Product Line at 2011 FABTECH Show

HANOVER, N.H. - Hypertherm is expanding its HyIntensity Fiber Laser product line with the introduction of two new systems at the 2011 FABTECH Show. The systems, a 2.0 kilowatt system for thicker metal cutting and increased productivity, and a 1.0 kilowatt system for thinner applications, join a 1.5 kilowatt system unveiled at last year's show.

The HyIntensity Fiber Laser systems, developed and manufactured by Hypertherm in the United States, are the only fiber laser systems specifically designed to work together as one complete cutting solution. The fiber laser supply, cutting head, automatic gas console, operator interface consoles, motion controls and software are all combined into one integrated package. Visitors can learn more about Hypertherm's new offerings by visiting two Hypertherm booths, one in the North Hall at booth #5704, and another in the South Hall at booth #1309, at Chicago's McCormick Place Convention Center.

Additionally, Hypertherm will sponsor a number of educational programs during this year's show. The sessions will cover a range of topics for both beginner and advanced users of metal cutting systems. The educational sessions will include presentations on hand cutting, mechanized plasma, fiber laser, consumable optimization, and more.

Hypertherm experts will present at two FABTECH sponsored events as well. Jim Colt and Dan McLenithan will discuss advancements in mechanized plasma cutting. The presentation, on the afternoon of Monday, November 14, will include a comparison of plasma to other cutting technologies, such as laser and waterjet. Two days later, on the morning of November 16, Hypertherm's Bob Boyes and Derek Weston will show FABTECH attendees how to produce twice as many parts per hour. Attendees will learn how to minimize non-cutting time through the use of rapid ignition and motion optimization techniques that require no operator intervention.

Hypertherm designs and manufactures advanced cutting systems for use in a variety of industries such as shipbuilding, manufacturing, and automotive repair. Its product line includes handheld and mechanized plasma and laser systems, consumables, as well as CNC motion and height controls and cutting software. Hypertherm systems are trusted for performance and reliability that results in increased productivity and profitability for tens of thousands of businesses. The New Hampshire based company's reputation for metal cutting innovation dates back more than 40 years, to 1968, with Hypertherm's invention of water injection plasma cutting. The company, consistently named one of the best places to work in America, has more than 1,000 associates along with operations and partner representation worldwide.
