SAN DIEGO - January 6, 2011) Holocom, the leader in protective distribution systems (PDS) for SIPRNet and other classified networks, announced today that Craig McCarthy has been promoted to president, effective immediately. The former senior vice president is the principal inventor of Holocom PDS and has been managing approximately half of the company's functions for the past 18 months.
"Mr. McCarthy has been a key contributor to Holocom's success. He has demonstrated abundant energy and creativity, and I am confident that he will competently confront and succeed in managing the challenges that lie ahead," said Holocom Chairman & CEO John Burns.
Accepting the promotion, Mr. McCarthy stated, "I am pleased that John and the board of directors have the confidence in me to lead our management team. Mr. McCarthy is the inventor or co-inventor on seven design and utility patents and lead inventor on three additional patent applications. McCarthy and his team strive to offer products that maximize security while reducing the cost to the government. New products and product upgrades are always designed from an installer's perspective resulting in fewer parts, reduced labor, faster, more efficient product installation, and decreased material and shipping cost.
McCarthy received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology, served in the US Army, and has also held engineering positions with government contractors and the Department of Defense. At Holocom since 2003, he has been director of services, director of operations, and senior vice president.
