Elkhart, Indiana - (June 19, 2009) Hoosier Crane Service Company provides hoists, crane kits and service to wind turbine OEMs and MRO facilities.
Hoosier Crane Service Company is an authorized dealer for CM manual and electric chain hoists for wind turbines-a wind turbine hoist specifically designed for use as a service hoist for wind turbine maintenance within the nacelle or tower. The CM Wind Edition hoists are available in two models, both with long lifts exceeding 300 feet: the Lodestar Wind Edition wind turbine hoist is used when the load exceeds 550 pounds and the CM Shopstar Wind Edition wind turbine hoist is ideal when the weight and size of the hoist are critical factors. "We choose CM Wind Edition Hoists for the wind energy market because their product is compact, rugged and portable with low maintenance," said Tom Schmidt, owner of Hoosier Crane.
Hoosier Crane also sells R&M overhead crane kits. These crane kits are an economical alternative to pre-assembled cranes for wind turbine manufacturing and maintenance facilities that have the tools and skills to cut, burn and drill steel. The modular crane packages are pre-engineered, complete crane component packages that include the Spacemaster SX wire rope hoist. The kit includes virtually everything but the bridge girder. For facilities that don't have the resources or time to build a crane kit, Hoosier Crane builds and ships overhead cranes throughout the United States.
In addition, Hoosier Crane provides engineering support for their hoist and crane kit products and 24/7 emergency service. The company can also perform OSHA training and inspections.
