HIRSCHMANN Automation LLC, a division of HIRSCHMANN Engineering USA, Inc., Elgin, Illinois, recently completed a new catalog, HIRSCHMANN AUTOMATION: Flexible Automation Solutions for Machine Tools and launched their web site www.HIRSCHAUTOMATION.com that demonstrates how their EROBOT product line of simple loaders and FANUC 6-axes robots are used with machine tools for manufacturing and how their CMS Cell Management Software can be configured.
The EROBOT product line offers automation solutions with increased productivity for both EDM and CNC machining centers. Normally installed next to the machine, the EROBOT manages the loading and unloading of work pieces and/or tools usually by M code. Technical data for the EROBOT 4000 Series for EDM and the 6000/8000/9000 Series for EDM and machining centers are included in the catalog and on the web as well. Installation examples are shown as is a chart of available models, magazine configurations and transfer weights.
HIRSCHMANN Automation LLC is a FANUC ROBOTICS integrator, licensed to develop and install automation solutions, optimally designed for both job shops and production environments. Shown in graph form are the available FANUC robot models based on EOA (end of arm) load capabilities, number of axes and reach information. Examples of installations from single to multiple machine types and operations, to a robot on rails servicing 4 wire EDMs using Hirschmann Cell Management Software (CMS), are illustrated so that the reader can easily understand the various installations. For additional clarity a number of installation photographs are included.
The 8-step process to automation in Hirschmann's CMS is outlined to show how even a small shop can reach high productivity rates, once thought only possible with high volume production work.
