Brochure Details Most Effective Adhesives for More Than 30 Plastic Substrates

Rocky Hill, Conn. -- September 7, 2011... To simplify the challenge of determining the most effective adhesive/plastic bonding combinations, Henkel Corporation has updated and reintroduced its LoctiteŽ Design Guide for Bonding Plastics. An informational resource for anyone looking to bond plastics, this completely updated 96-page guide provides detailed technical information on the seven leading adhesive technologies that effectively bond the 30 most common plastic substrates.

The LoctiteŽ Design Guide for Bonding Plastics provides bond strength data for 30 substrates including ABS, delrin, nylon, polycarbonate, polypropylene, polyethylene and PVC. The guide also presents shear strength data on 23 LoctiteŽ adhesives including cyanoacrylates, epoxies, hot melts, light cure acrylics, polyurethanes, silicones and no-mix/static-mix acrylics.

The literature offers special sections on surface treatments, joint design guidelines to maximize adhesive performance, and a discussion of process costs versus overall strength for various assembly methods.

For more information and to download a copy of the LoctiteŽ Design Guide for Bonding Plastics, go to www.henkelna.com/loctitestructurals. Or request a copy of brochure number LT-2197 by calling 1-800-LOCTITE (800-562-8483).
