Hendrickson Launches Additional STEERTEK Capacities on International's® ProStar®+, LoneStar® and TranStar® Truck Models

WOODRIDGE, Ill. - Hendrickson Truck Suspension Systems officials announce the innovative, weight saving STEERTEK front steer axle is now available at 13,000, 13,200, 14,000 and 14,600 pound ratings on International's ProStar®+, LoneStar® and TranStar® vehicle models. STEERTEK's unique fabricated design saves up to 47 pounds compared to traditional I-beam axles.

"Offering a broader capacity range of STEERTEK axles shows our commitment to providing lightweight solutions to Navistar® and to their end users" according to Sean Coleman, director of sales and marketing for Hendrickson Truck Systems Group.

Randy Oetting, director of Truck Marketing, Product Information, commented, "Navistar® is pleased to offer Hendrickson's full line of STEERTEK axles on International® heavy-duty models. As the standard axle on the ProStar+, LoneStar and TranStar vehicles, the innovative lightweight STEERTEK axle helps contribute to the overall objective of reduced vehicle weight and furthers Navistar's competitive advantage in the marketplace."

STEERTEK's rigid, box-shaped design resists twisting forces more effectively than traditional I-beams, while the patented two-piece knuckle assembly simplifies kingpin bushing serviceability. In addition, integrated steering arm and tie rod attachments increase strength and further reduce weight, providing greater durability and helping to reduce maintenance costs. The unique manufacturing process of the STEERTEK axle allows for greater design flexibility to meet the varied industry applications while also contributing to STEERTEK's significant weight savings compared to traditional forged axles.

Hendrickson's weight saving STEERTEK front steer axle is standard on International's ProStar+, LoneStar and TranStar vehicle models. Available in capacities up to 14,600 pounds, STEERTEK comes with a standard 10-year, 1 million mile limited warranty. The warranty coverage includes the axle beam, steering arm, knuckle assemblies and kingpins when used in Hendrickson-approved applications in the United States and Canada within the proper guidelines of STEERTEK.
