Press release date: February 13, 2007

Hiawatha, KS - February 2007 - (TSX:CSY) In response to farmers growing demand for increased accuracy at a more affordable price, Hemisphere GPS has developed another option to subscription networks and high-priced base systems. Using high-definition, single-frequency RTK, Outback® BaseLineHD provides the same accuracy as dual-frequency RTK but at a fraction of the cost. Used in combination with Outback S2 and Outback eDrive, BaseLineHD provides one inch pass-to-pass accuracy in an affordable hands-free GPS steering system.

"The Outback BaseLineHD system is a very cost-effective alternative to dual-frequency systems, as well as subscriptions to base station networks," says Bill Burdick, General Manager, Ground Ag for Hemisphere GPS and Outback-brand products. "A network subscription can easily cost a producer $1,500 per year or more. When you buy Outback BaseLineHD, you have a fully portable and robust correction system that you own - which means you're in control of your own high-definition RTK solution. You can use it on any machine you choose, or move it to any location."

Outback BaseLineHD includes an integrated base station and a single rover unit. Multiple vehicles can be equipped with additional rover units all operating from a single base system. In effect, producers can cost effectively add high-definition GPS to the combine, sprayer, spreader and/or several tractors. Outback BaseLineHD is especially adept at season-after-season repeatability, consistency and accuracy in straight-line, contour and center-pivot modes. This feature is particularly valuable for controlled traffic applications where multiple field operations are isolated to specific zones.

"Equally important, the BaseLineHD is a self-contained unit, which includes its own internal, 12-volt rechargeable power source that can provide up to 24 hours of operation on a single charge," Burdick adds. "This eliminates the need to carry an additional battery to the field, even though a port is provided if the operator wants to use an external battery."

"The best feature, though, is the simplicity," Burdick concludes. "Using the BaseLineHD is as easy as setting the unit up on the tripod and turning it on. In just a few minutes, a producer is ready for RTK performance. With eDrive installation kits designed to fit over 500 vehicle models, customers can realize a quick return on the investment using it throughout the operation."

Dave Mitchell, a grower and BaseLineHD user near Bakersfield, California recently stated, "While preparing my field to plant carrots, I've found that BaseLineHD with eDrive is saving me at least 18 inches of overlap per pass. The cost savings are incredible and the return on investment is easy to see immediately. The high accuracy of BaseLineHD permits me to plow, disc, rip, list, and plant all my crops including carrots, potatoes, black eyed beans, garlic, and wheat. And because of the self contained battery and compact size of the BaseLineHD base station, it's very easy to take with me from field to field, a great feature in this area because our properties are spread out."

Please visit Hemisphere GPS at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky from February 14-17. Outback BaseLineHD and the other latest Outback Guidance products will be on display in the South Wing B at booth 904.
