Peachtree City, GA, Oct 21, 2009: Harris is pleased to announce the appointment of Kenneth Galason as Vice President of Operations. Galason's responsibilities will include Harris operations located in Georgia, Texas, Oregon, and the UK. He has considerable experience in Lean production systems, lean manufacturing and six sigma implementations. Galason has multi-site plant experience with strong operations skills across engineering, manufacturing and quality, as well as, consolidation and start-up of new facilities.
Ken will be working directly with the Harris manufacturing, procurement, engineering and new product development groups. "Ken brings excellent attributes to Harris. His execution results- oriented background, and his track record of success will be a great addition to Harris," states Edd Berkoben, President.
Ken graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science, in Industrial Engineering Technology. He joined a division of John Deere working as a quality engineer. He was recruited to lead and improve manufacturing facilities in Mexico and the U.S. He then became a consultant to operation facilities using his Lean and TQM experience for a range of clients. Ken joins Harris from Heatcraft, where he managed five manufacturing plants. Ken will reside in South Georgia with his wife and children.
