Nuremberg, Germany. The Siemens Industry Automation Division has extended its code reader systems portfolio to include the new high-powered hand-held code reader Simatic MV340.
The Simatic MV340 complements the portfolio of code reading systems from the Siemens Industry Automation Division. Its optimized evaluation algorithms and an integrated light source make Simatic MV340 one of the most powerful handheld readers worldwide, particularly suited to meet the most exacting requirements.
The handheld reader reads the most diverse direct part markings (DPM), including linear bar codes and 2D symbols. Different codes can be read without having to reconfigure the unit. Thanks to its special evaluation logic, Simatic MV340 can even read complex, low-contrasting codes. Image processing algorithms have been optimized to enable decoding under adverse conditions. An integrated light ensures uninterrupted and reliable operation. It supports the sensor in varying light conditions, and automatically changes the colour and the angle of illumination so as to allow reading of both printed and embossed codes on the most varied surface textures.
A USB cable is provided for communication and power supply purposes. Alternatively, an optional accessory is available to provide the connection via RS232. The reader's sturdy design makes it suitable for use in rough industrial environments. Press information on Simatic Ident is available in our Press Special Feature at: www.siemens.com/presse/Ident
