Stand G817, CabSat, March 2006: With the industry in transition - from analogue to digital; standard definition to HD; video to IP - the importance of accurate and affordable test and measurement equipment is stronger than ever. Hamlet is bringing its range of software and hardware solutions to CabSat 2006, along with product specialists who can discuss detailed requirements and even develop bespoke tools if required.
Centre stage is the award-winning Flexiscope, the high-precision handheld test system based on an all-digital platform developed specifically for the task by Hamlet. Covering all standard and high definition formats, it provides all the services an engineer could need including video and audio confidence monitoring as well as waveform and audio monitoring and a vectorscope, all in a palmtop device. External reference and AES/EBU are standard on current modules.
The new Vidscope-vx is a Windows software package supplied on, and running from, a USB memory stick, making it the most portable software test system ever: any computer with suitable I/O can instantly become a waveform monitor, vectorscope gamut indicator and logger. Because it runs on software it can test complete files faster than real time, making it ideal for quality control applications when content is delivered over IP files. Vidscope-vx is available in versions for DV, HDV, SDI and HD-SDI, and is compatible with all PC video capture cards. The rest of Hamlet's range of equipment will also be on display at CabSat 2006, including the latest version of the LCD Scope, the lightweight, low power video and audio monitoring unit based on a high resolution LCD display rather than a CRT. Also featured will be the Axiom and Index hand-portable test signal generators.
